Where it all began:

Below is my original piece that I based my entire project on throughout the gateway course to the writing minor. The original piece is an essay from my first communication and media class at the University of Michigan. The two papers work together as an understanding of news consumption today. One part is a reflection of my own consumption and the other is an interview with my father about his news consumption when he was my age. I used this piece as the basis for my project because I wanted to understand why the change we see in news affects how we interact with it, especially as students. Thus, it spurred my question, "How can we best consume news?"
