*NOTICE - we have ended enrollment for this study

Researchers at Michigan Medicine have designed a virtual research study to evaluate whether a mobile phone app and smartwatch notifications can help patients lower their blood pressure.

Unlike other research studies, the myBPmyLife study does not require any travel for study visits. Everything you need for the study will be delivered directly to your home address including a smartwatch and home blood pressure monitor.

If you decide to participate:

1) You will be asked to wear the smartwatch you receive daily for 6 months,

2) Answer surveys on your phone every 2 months,

3) and check your blood pressure weekly with the home blood pressure monitor you receive.

Additionally, half of the participants will receive notifications encouraging them to be more active and help lower salt in their diet.

There are no costs to participate in this study though participants do need to own a compatible iPhone or Android phone. Participants will be provided with a smartwatch (Fitbit Versa 2 or similar) and a blood pressure cuff, which you will be allowed to keep for participating in the study. You will also receive up to $100 in appreciation for completing study tasks.

As with all research studies, you will have access to a study team member to voice any concerns or to ask questions.
