Where are they now?
The women on our executive board majored in a variety of math-related fields, and have gone in many different directions! Our past WiM Executive Board have found success in many areas:
Hanna Astephan, our first president, is currently a math graduate student at the University of Utah.
Rebecca Gleit went on to get her master's degree from Marquette University, and is now getting her Ph. D from Stanford in Sociology, and also spent time with Teach for America.
Caroline Bjerregard became an actuarial analyst at CNA Insurance.
Emily Slade is pursuing her Ph. D in Biostatistics at Harvard.
Sarah Wales is also an actuarial analyst, employed by State Farm in their Life/Health Actuarial Department.
Doree Kreitman is an actuarial analyst, employed by Allstate.
Merideth Martz is in San Francisco, employed by Dropbox.
Yaya Gao has been working as a research assistant in accounting right here at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business! Additionally, she has been tutoring mathematics in Ypsilanti.
Dianna Siyuan Liu is getting her master’s degree in Operations Research at Cornell University.
Heather Price is teaching math at Basalt High School in Colorado.
Lejing Xu is getting her master’s degree in Mathematics in Finance at New York University.
Elizabeth Viera-Patron is getting her master’s degree in Logic at Carnegie Mellon University.
