During my industry internship, I worked with Cold Spray, an advanced metal coating technology that applies powdered metal in its solid state, preserving the base metal's properties better than conventional thermal spray. I analyzed 18 cold-sprayed samples using tools like a Vickers hardness tester, tensile testing machine, and EDM cutter. The coatings achieved a 50% increase in hardness and a 30% boost in tensile strength while retaining 85% of the base metal's properties at 7 MPa and 900°C. Cold Spray’s ability to enhance mechanical performance with minimal thermal impact makes it ideal for aerospace, automotive, and defense applications.
This project focused on designing an innovative, high-performance, zero-emission UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) for delivery applications. I developed a UAV with a 100 km range and a cruise speed of 50 km/h, optimizing for efficiency and sustainability. The design process involved simulating the fuselage and wing structures using resin and carbon fiber layers to balance the center of gravity (CG) and overall weight using SolidWorks and ANSYS. Additionally, I worked on refining the wing profile to ensure it could carry a 6 kg payload while maintaining structural integrity, ensuring both performance and reliability for real-world delivery missions.
At Mondelez International, I led a project focused on reducing the company's environmental impact and operational costs. By implementing alternative fuels in HVAC systems and boilers and installing solar panels, I helped reduce global CO2 emissions by 50 kilotons and cut annual costs by $10 million. In addition to these sustainable initiatives, I developed a web application using PHP, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript to track emissions, production costs, and savings. This tool provided data-driven insights to inform decisions on adopting lower-emission fuels, driving further efficiencies and sustainability within the company.
