First Year Experience

UMetc partners with the First Year Experience for the creation and performance of the Change it Up! workshops. Change it Up! provides students with an opportunity to discuss what motivates them to address harm, learn how to safely and effectively intervene, and to practice skills related to both bystander intervention and receiving an intervention. Through interactive theatre and conversations, students will learn how to address and repair harm in their communities.

Office of student conflict resolution

"Thank you, and ETC performers, for the excellent mock arbitration on Saturday. The feedback I've received has been exclusively positive!"

Program on Intergroup relations

"Amanda was a delight to work with, from concept to execution. She listened to our needs, asked great questions, and built a script with a set of vignettes designed to address the very specific detours we know often happen in intergroup dialogues. Amanda included us in all aspects of the preparation for our event from reviewing her expert script to providing feedback to actors prior to the workshop. The actors were all well prepared and addressed the audience responses in an authentic and meaningful way. The depth of learning that occurred as a result of Amanda and ETC’s program could not have occurred in any other way. Our future facilitators were able to interact with Amanda’s actors in a way to “feel” the experience of facilitation in a way that no other format could have provided. It was precisely what we had envisioned! We can’t wait to continue and deepen our collaboration."

Career Center

"The employer pre-fair program we did yesterday using the ETC students (facilitated by Amanda). IT WAS GREAT!!! It accomplished so many of our goals -- and hit a few unexpected others in the process. [...] [Employer] feedback was very positive - they loved the approach, they really heard "next level" things, and their final reflections were definitely on point. Amanda is wonderful to work with. She is energetic, responsive, and was really open to our feedback which made the process really work well. [...] We were super excited that it accomplished so many of our agendas in bridging the gap in recruiting practices with the goal of creating an inclusive future workplace."
