UMTRI is looking to engage industry sponsors to provide opportunities for students to gain research experience. Opportunities are available for undergraduates as well as master's students. Internship cost will cover hourly salary for the intern, a small percentage of time for an UMTRI researcher to supervise the student, and administrative costs to manage the program.
Sponsors can fund student research two ways. First, if a sponsor has a specific activity in mind suitable for a student project, they can contact an UMTRI researcher with relevant expertise to develop a project proposal. Second, a sponsor can contact the UMTRI student internship coordinator to arrange a donation intended to cover a certain number of interships, with the projects proposed by researchers throughout UMTRI.
