Gabrielle Sanders is an undergraduate research assistant. She is a third-year student pursuing dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Afroamerican and African Studies, with a minor in Intergroup Relations. Her academic and research interests focus on the intersection of race and culture in child development, as well as addressing disparities and the impact of discrimination on mental health within minority communities. Outside of the lab, she loves working with children and is actively involved in youth education and development. She volunteers as a reading mentor with the Children’s Literacy Network and as a literacy tutor at Gigi’s Playhouse in Detroit. She also works as a teaching assistant at the University of Michigan Health System’s Children’s Center, supporting early childhood learning. In her free time, Gabrielle enjoys reading, trying out new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends!
