Milestone #1
In this week, we worked on the conception of our project and started the scene construction.
Guided by the rationale outlined above, we initiated our development with the following foundational steps:
Construct the first scene: protagonist’s room blockout
Add the character model
Establish a simple dialogue with the narrator
We will implement physical blocks afterward; for now, our focus is on ensuring the conversation system's functionality
Ensure the real-time mesh combing
Create the prototype of 1 puzzle
Week 2: 04/01/24 -- 04/08/24
Milestone #2
In this week, we furthered the conceptualization of the project and worked on interactions in the scene.
Guided by the rationale outlined above, we initiated our development with the following foundational steps:
Complete a thorough outline for all of the scenes, focusing on family, friendship, and workplace. Completed the dialogue outline for the first two scenes and started the dialogue for the third scene.
Added radio and environmental sounds.
Completed the first scene interactions: dialogue, narrator, and narrators, puzzle.
Added distinct NPCs that align with the dialogue
Completed the puzzle functionality to align with the dialogue
Completed scene 1's dialogue interactions (word-block)
Completed the first puzzle, which unlocks the next scene: remember his birth year!
Blocked out and began interactions for the last two scenes
Week 3: 04/08/24 -- 04/15/24
Alpha
In this week, we developed the immersive quality of our product and finalized details about gameplay and interactions.
Complete the dialogue and puzzle for the third scene.
Added radio and ambient environmental sounds.
Completed the second and third scene interactions: dialogue, narrator, and narrators, puzzle.
Added distinct NPCs to second and third scenes that align with the dialogue.
Completed the second and third puzzle functionality to align with the dialogue
Adjusted dialogue interactions, moving away from throwing word-blocks
Completed the second and third puzzles & dialogues which relate to friendships and the workplace.
Created foundation for "looping" mechanism of the game

Week 4: 04/15/24 -- 04/19/24
Gold
In this week, we worked on the final revision and loop details for "repetition". We also spent a lot of time debugging and prepare for the final EECS 498 showcase on 04/19/2024, 6-10pm!
Revised the scene 3 (workspace) blockout design and interaction
Recorded the marketing video (check our home page!)
Added environmental and interaction sound effects
Added the loop game interactions and debris to all scenes
Wrote the loop dialogues for narrators
Fixed bugs of NPC conversation and scene switching
Constructed the final victory scene
