ABOUT MYSELF

I am an Assistant Research Scientist in the Behavioral Sciences Group of the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) and an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Monash University Accident Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia.

My research interests lie at the intersection of psychology and public health to promote transportation safety, mobility, and equity throughout the lifespan. These disciplines provide a useful framework to conceptualize the interactive effects of personal and environmental factors that affect individual behavior to produce safety and mobility outcomes. Specific research interests include: access to, use, and misuse of child safety seats; older adult mobility issues, including the impact of driving on health and safety; use of advanced vehicle technologies to promote safety and improve mobility; longitudinal analysis of health and driving; and program and policy analysis in the areas of occupant protection and impaired and distracted driving.
