Pablo Sanz

I am a PhD candidate in Strategy at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. I am currently on the academic job market for 2023-2024.

My research explores how social media has revolutionized the way in which activists can pressure corporations, and it investigates how digital activism will impact the strategies and resources of firms. For example, I study the effect that organized activism on social media can have on stock market valuations, while in my job market paper I show that social media boycotts inadvertently foster the ideological polarization inside targeted corporations.

Before joining the PhD program at Michigan Ross I earned a degree in Industrial Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (BS and MS), an MSc in Economics at Universitat de Barcelona, and an MBA at IESE Business School. I also worked as Research Assistant at IESE Business School doing research in the field of Business Ethics and its intersection with Organizational Behavior and Corporate Social Responsibility.
