My name is Nicolas Trueba and I am an Astronomy PhD candidate at the University of Michigan.
I am primarily interested in studying accreting black holes and neutron stars in binary systems. Specifically, I am interested in understanding the physical mechanisms that mediate the transport of matter and angular momentum throughout the disk by studying absorption phenomena in these systems, such as disk winds and atmospheres. I study these systems primarily using the high-resolution spectra provided by the Chandra X-ray Observatory.
