How It Works

To be an "active" member you must simply show interest and attend at least four events or join the mentorship program. We do not have any membership requirements except to have curiosity and passion for learning about the brain!

Being on our mailing list gets you access to information about upcoming events as well as other great opportunities and resources. You can find the removal request form at the bottom of this page if you wish to stop receiving these emails. You can still find event updates on our Instagram @michiganneuro and right here on our website!

If you plan on being an active member, and coming to our events, we do ask that you fill out the RSVP forms for the events that can be found on the emails and on the website. This greatly helps us with ensuring we order enough pizza/candy/other resources for everyone! Thank you!

Events

Note that none of our events are mandatory. You are welcome to come to whichever events interest you, whether you are an "NSA member", or just an interested newcomer. We hope you enjoy the awesome events our wonderful E-board have put together! See the mass meeting slides on the Home page to get a sense of the different types of events we hold.

For each event you come to, you will earn "points" that could lead to a prize at the end of the semester/school year.

FAQ

How do I become an NSA member/get involved?

Just come to our events and engage! Email either cgebczak@umich.edu or tanbhan@umich.edu to get added to our mailing list if you would like to receive event updates. Our club offers great ways to get involved in the Neuroscience community. If you LOVE NSA and would like to become an E-board member to help plan events in the future, look out for that application in the spring.

Is there only one mailing list for all members?

Yes!

Will NSA help me get research/other opportunities?

Absolutely! Whenever we hear of research/shadowing/any opportunities that we think our members could benefit from, we always send them along to the mailing list. Additionally, our PD events and Speaker events will allow you to build your career profile and connect with UofM faculty!
