Each July the Michigan Medicine Muslim community gathers with their families at a local playground pavilion for a casual picnic to welcome our newly arriving residents and fellows. This is a great opportunity to make new friends, learn some tips from those a step ahead of you in the journey, and, if you are bringing family with you, to help them establish a social network for the years to come.Â
Monthly social gatherings to build suhba (companionship) among residents and fellows, these gatherings are an opportunity to connect around the hard stuff and to celebrate the wins while tapping into spiritual practices that support resilience. Coordination happens through the Text Group below.
An informal and low volume WhatsApp group to connect with residents and fellows across the Michigan Medicine system used for organizing Together Time gatherings that could also be used for other questions though it remains to be seen if that will be relevant.
