The purpose of the Music Informatics for Radio Across the GlobE (MIRAGE) project is to develop and release an open-access online dashboard that allows users to access, interact with, and export metadata and musicological features from the music found on internet radio. This video showcases the v0.2 release of the online dashboard.
GeoListen is based on a series of behavioral experiments that tasked participants with identifying the geographic locations of music across the globe using an interactive user interface. The team received a commercialization grant from the Innovation Hub at Texas Tech University in 2024 to develop the UI as a gamefied app that combines the fun of listening to music from around the world with the challenge of a geographic puzzle.
GeoListen founders Peter Martens and David Sears were interviewed by the Red Raider Business Build-Up on Campus Live TTU in March, 2026.
