The ideal applicant would have a Ph.D. in neuroscience with an emphasis or interest in cerebral vascular function in the context of mouse models of Alzheimer's disease. The applicant should also have experience (or a willingness to learn) how to assess cognitive function in mice. There are opportunities to learn a variety of methods in both laboratories. Applicants must be highly organized, strongly motivated and possess strong communication skills and be able to work within a team based environment.

While the successful candidate would be focused on the specific projects outlined above, ample opportunities exist for addition training both methodological (calcium imaging, cognitive assays and mouse behavioral neuroscience) and conceptual (the Murphy Lab has collaborations with multiple labs in Neurology and Psychiatry). Successful candidates will receive personalized mentoring and will also be encouraged to expand their own mentoring skills. Full job posting is here (109 KB PDF).
