Principal Investigator
Sung kyun park, Sc.D., M.P.H.
Sung Kyun is Professor of Epidemiology and Environmental Health Sciences at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and Affiliate Faculty of the Kresge Hearing Research Institute at Michigan Medicine. He is a Co-Director of the Integrated Health Science Core of the Michigan Center on Lifestage Environmental Exposures and Disease (M-LEEaD). He is also a core faculty of the Center for Midlife Science. He received his M.P.H in Environmental Health from Seoul National University in 2000 and a doctoral degree (Sc.D.) in Environmental Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health in 2005. Since he joined as the core faculty of the Center for Midlife Science, Sung Kyun founded his research team, the Michigan Multi-Pollutant Epidemiology Group (MPEG) that focuses on health effects of various environmental pollutant exposures, such as air pollution, heavy metals, persistent organic pollutants (e.g., PFAS), and non-persistent chemicals (e.g., phenols, parabens and phthalates), through four NIH-funded R01 projects (SWAN Multi-Pollutant Study and the Study of the Environment and Alzheimer's Disease and related Dementia (SEAD)).
Research Assistant Professor
Xin Wang, Ph.D., M.P.H.
Xin Wang is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Dr. Wang received his M.P.H. and Ph.D. in Epidemiologic Science from the University of Michigan. His research interests broadly relate to developing and applying novel data-driven approaches to systematically evaluate a wide variety of environmental factors with aging-related diseases, including reproductive and cardiometabolic disorders and Alzheimer's disease. He is now working with several ongoing cohort studies, including the Study of the Environment and Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (SEAD), the Study of Women's Health Across the Nation (SWAN), Normative Aging Study (NAS), the Nurses' Health Study (NHS), and the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).
Research Staff
Victoria Zhang MPH
Victoria is a data analyst in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She received her MPH in General Epidemiology from the University of Michigan School of Public Health in 2023. Her research focuses on the effects of environmental chemicals on women's health during midlife, particularly examining how these exposures may influence chronic disease risk and other health outcomes.

Jiaxin Wu, M.P.H.
Jiaxin is a doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She received her M.P.H. in General Epidemiology from the University of Michigan School of Public Health in 2023. Her research primarily focuses on the potential impacts of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) on women's health, particularly during midlife. Additionally, she explores the roles of social determinents may play in such associations.

Ben Kessler, MPH
Ben is a doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. He received his MPH in Environmental Health Epidemiology at the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health in 2024. His research investigates the effects of environmental mixtures on metabolic health in order to contribute to precision medicine and public health. This molecular epidemiologic work spans exposomics, longitudinal untargeted metabolomics, high-dimensional mediation analysis, and prediction modeling.
