The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor is approximately 45 minutes west of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW). There are several ways to get to campus and your conference accommodations:
Rackham Graduate School, 915 E. Washington Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48109
From Detroit (heading West)
Take I-94 West to the State Street exit (Exit #177); turn right (North). Continue on State for approximately 2 miles. Take a right on Washington. Rackham will be the second building on your left.
From Chicago (heading East)
Take I-94 West to the State Street exit (Exit #177); turn left (North). Continue on State Street approximately 2 miles. Take a right on Washington. Rackham will be the second building on your left.
I-75/US-23
From Ohio (heading North)
Take US-23 North to the Washtenaw-“Ann Arbor” exit (Exit #37B); merge onto Washtenaw. At the fork where Stadium and Washtenaw split (approx. 2 miles), stay to the right, continuing on Washtenaw. Washtenaw will eventually veer sharply to the left, at which time Washtenaw turns into Huron St. Turn left at Fletcher St. off Huron St. and go one block to Washington. Turn right onto Washington, and Rackham will be on your right.
From Northern MI (heading South)
Take I-75 South to US-23 South to M-14 WEST. Take the Exit #3, “Downtown Ann Arbor,” which puts you on Main Street. Take Main to Washington St. and turn left. Continue on Washington past State Street and Rackham will be the second building on your left.
I-275/I-696 (W.P. Ruether Freeway)
From Northwest Suburbs
Take I-696 to I-275 South to M-14 West. Follow M-14 West signs closely. Take Exit #3, “Downtown Ann Arbor,” which puts you on Main Street. Take Main to Washington St. and turn left. Continue on Washington past State Street and Rackham will be the second building on your left.
I-96 (also called the Jeffries Freeway)
From Parts of Detroit, Redford, M-14, Plymouth and Canton
Take I-96 West to M-14 West. Take Exit #3, “Downtown Ann Arbor,” which puts you on Main Street. Take Main to Washington St. and turn left. Continue on Washington past State Street and Rackham will be the second building on your left.
From Lansing
Take I-96 to US-23 South to M-14 West. Take Exit #3, “Downtown Ann Arbor,” which puts you on Main Street. Take Main to Washington St. and turn left. Continue on Washington past State Street and Rackham will be the second building on your left.

Parking Rates
In general, you can expect to pay $2.20/hr for metered parking and $1.80/hr for up to three hours parking in a structure ($2.00 +3 hours).
