Miocene trough cross-bedding
Field work crew in Erenhot, China in 2015.
A vista of fluvial Miocene outcrops capped by a basalt flow in Inner Mongolia. Our study of this site and others in the region pinpointed the timing of aridification in central Asia (Caves et al., 2016).
