Department affinity group. Created as a networking group for all Spanish-speaking members from the Astronomy Department at UM, in all stages of their careers. We organize outreach events to highlight astronomy based in Spanish-speaking countries, with a special emphasis on Latin American ones. Organized by three Venezuelans surviving the Michigan winter (Prof. Nuria Calvet, Majo Colmenares, and me).
Here are some of the posters highlighting Latin American Women in Astronomy and their contributions. Credits: Marbely Micolta, Maria Jose Colmenares, and Katya Gozman

The Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) is an inclusive US organization dedicated to fostering the success of Chicano/Hispanic and Native American scientists, from college students to professionals, in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in STEM. Their National Diversity in STEM (NDiSTEM) is the largest multidisciplinary and multicultural STEM diversity event in the US, with the sole purpose to equip, empower, and energize participants for their academic and professional paths in STEM.
The past NDiSTEM conferences have had a record-breaking +6,000 attendees of all career stages from high school to tenured faculty. This is the most lively conference I have attended, and I recommend everyone to take part, especially undergraduates looking to make connections.
