The Donia Human Rights Center (DHRC) is the University of Michigan’s center for intellectual exchange and student experiential learning on issues around human rights. The DHRC aims to promote a deeper understanding of human rights issues in the contemporary world and to equip our constituents – students, faculty, and the general public -- with the tools to tackle challenging human rights problems around the world. True to Michigan, our orientation is decidedly interdisciplinary, as we seek to create dialogue among participants with diverse backgrounds and academic interests. Our programming centers on two elements: inviting leading practitioners and scholars to share their insights and expertise with our constituents; and fostering student learning through student fellowship for summer work at human rights institutions or research.
