Born and raised in Lansing, Michigan, I grew up building Legos and playing with snap circuits, as many engineers did. I love the show Shark Tank, and I still hope to pitch ideas of my own to the Sharks someday. I started my engineering career in high school with a three-year Project Lead The Way engineering course. Through this specialized program, I discovered the wonderful worlds of CAD, 3D printing, extensive research, and notebook keeping. To continue my education, I am attending the University of Michigan and studying biomedical engineering.Â
I went to Okinawa, Japan in 2019 with my karate dojo to an international seminar. This trip was an incredible opportunity and my first international experience. In the Summer of 2023, I participated in a study abroad at the University of Porto in Portugal (pictured above). I love to experience new places and cultures. I believe being versed in various cultures helps my design as an engineer. I intend to explore more of the world throughout my life and career.
I consider myself an engineer with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. My work does not stop at the end of the engineering design process. I love establishing intellectual property, bringing a product to market that solves real-life problems, and interacting with consumers. For me, the design process is an iterative one. The first solution is never the best solution. I always strive for the best possible solution for the consumer.
I got my Ender 3 Pro in 2021, and it is my baby. I have printed everything from Benchy Boats, to phone stands, to my engineering projects. I often find cool stuff online to print. While 3D printing is fun, my favorite part is fixing my printer when it breaks. I've had to replace the extruder gear, bowden tube, and more nozzles than I care to count. I keep my Ender 3 Pro running smoothly and soundly. It has helped me with countless personal and class projects and will serve me for many years to come.
