I am a second-year Linguistics Ph.D. student at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
My research examines prosodic-gestural interfaces in African-American languages, including African-American English and Black American Sign Language, to inform audio-visual speech synthesis development and theoretical approaches concerning incorporating co-speech gestures in cognitive speech planning.
I am committed to achieving linguistic justice for all language users and varieties. My teaching philosophy, writings, and research reflect my commitment to and passion for this cause.
