Jing Ouyang

Hi, I am a fifth-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Statistics at University of Michigan, supervised by Prof. Gongjun Xu. Before coming to Michigan, I received a BSc. in Mathematics and Economics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2019.

I am generally interested in latent variable models, psychometrics, high-dimensional statistical inference, and statistical machine learning. Specifically, my research focuses on developing statistical theory, novel methodology and efficient computing tool for latent variable models to analyze high-dimensional and complex data, with interdisciplinary applications in large-scale educational assessments, psychological measurements, and biomedical sciences.

I will join the Statistics Group at HKU Business School as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2024!
