Jessica Kaye Lucas is a student in the Political Science doctoral program, specializing in world politics. Jessica’s research focuses on the discrimination and inequity faced by historically oppressed classes, particularly marginalized genders. She is interested in the connections between race, gender, and class oppression on a global scale.
Esmeralda López is a PhD student in Political Science and Public Policy at the University of Michigan. She is interested in the institutional and individual level barriers to reporting conflict-related sexual violence and other wartime gender violence, how related data is collected and measured, and how these issues are addressed by policymakers. Before coming to Michigan, Esmeralda received B.A.s in Political Science and in History at the University of North Texas where she was a McNair Scholar.
Ragnhild Nordås is an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science, a faculty affiliate of the Program in International and Comparative Studies, and a faculty associate at the Center for Political Studies, Institute for Social Research. Her core research interests are in political violence and repression; and in particular on causes, dynamics, and consequences of sexual violence, incuding public perceptions of such violence. She is one of the co-creators of the global dataset on Sexual Violence and Armed Conflict (SVAC): www.sexualviolencedata.org.
