2017 Hour of Code at AAPS

It was an exceptional effort by the University of Michigan and Thomson Reuters to support and staff the 2017 Hour of Code for the Ann Arbor Public Schools. We worked to get every elementary student an introduction to coding during the Hour of Code weeks Nov 27- Dec 8, 2017.

Together we had:

  • 80 volunteers signed up to support
  • 72 volunteers assigned to classrooms
  • 111 class sessions of Hour of Code reaching over 2700 elementary students

The top three schools with the most participation by student population received a plaque made by the Huron High School Project Lead the Way students and the 10 Sphero mini robots to continue their coding with robots.

The 2017 winners were: Angell Elementary, Bach Elementary and Lawton Elementary.
