“Fantastic instructor. Knew what to cover and what not to cover. She's great at demonstrating arithmetic. Everyone liked her and her teaching style despite the difficulty of the course concepts. If you can get her, hire her immediately.”
“Hanna really pushed the class to do good work in this class.”
“Hannah was great and helped us participate more.”
“I will say her saying at times, "push back on my claim" was productive to prepare us for the possible abrasiveness of seminars in economics. I did appreciate Hanna calling on everyone when she posed questions to the group.”
“Discussions were helpful and the office hours were well–timed and helpful.”
“Hanna was extremely patient and helpful in office hours, which I regularly attended. This let me check homeworks as I was working on them, which made me feel more secure with the material and avoid falling too far behind. Sections were enjoyable to attend and the notes/exercises covered there were challenging and relevant.”
“Hanna provided very helpful exercises to help us practice during our section. She covered important concepts through these exercises and helped prepare us for the exams.”
“Hanna was a great GSI! She encouraged students to attend office hours and helped me understand the material after being a bit confused from lecture.”
“Hanna was a phenomenal instructor in discussion every week and really cared about me as a student.”
“Hanna held in person office hours after lecture, nominally from 4–5, but would almost always stay until no more students had questions. This usually meant staying later, anywhere from ten minutes to an hour. In these office hours, Hanna pushed students to try our best before helping us, and frequently used interrogatory teaching methods to help guide us to the answers without just giving them to us. For me, this significantly helped build my confidence in my own knowledge and abilities in addition to furthering my understanding of the content. Hanna's Friday–morning sections were especially helpful.“
“Hanna Onyshchenko was very kind and understanding towards me as a student with learning disabilities. I have always had trouble reaching out for help, and still didn't as much as I should have, but Hanna was very warm, welcoming, and kind. She encouraged me to come to office hours and seek help. She is also very hardworking, and a great explainer. She balances rigidity with understanding, and I am appreciative of that!”
“Hanna was a wonderful GSI. I honestly felt like I learned far more from the discussion sections than the lectures.”
