Virtual “Travel” Opportunities

This is a collection of links to activities/destinations that will help you feel like a world traveler from your computer!

GeoGuessr will virtually drop you in a location around the world, leaving you to use clues from the location to guess where you are.

Outside Online provides access to livestreams to locations around the world, from a state park in Florida all the way to Antarctica.

The San Diego Zoo and Monterey Bay Aquarium have live streams where you can visit animal enclosures in real time from the comfort of your computer.

If you have more funds to spend, consider joining a live virtual cooking class like the one linked above and learn how to cook a new meal. Otherwise, you can look up new recipes for free!

Learn a new language, or touch up on one you already know! Consider signing up for live virtual language lessons, or use a free software.

If you were planning on traveling this past year but were unable to, consider donating to a nonprofit like One for the World. Many vulnerable communities have been particularly badly affected by both the health and economic effects of the pandemic.
