The conference will be held at the Sheraton St John’s, which is in downtown St John’s, Newfoundland. It is close to many activities in the city and only 4 miles from the St John’s International Airport. The site overlooks the St. John’s harbor and is a short walk from many restaurants and activities. A very scenic 1.8-km hike takes you from the hotel to the top of Signal Hill and the Cabot Tower. Marconi received the first transatlantic wireless transmission there in 1901, so this seems an auspicious location for the FOPS meeting.

The booking link only works for travel dates July 21-26, 2024. If you are hoping to arrive early/leave late, you will need to contact the hotel directly to book as the extra days are not a part of our contract.
A block of rooms has been reserved at the hotel for conference attendees starting at a rate of 239 CAD. Rooms and suites with multiple beds are available for families, or for groups who may wish to room together. Early conference and hotel registration is encouraged as rooms not reserved by June 20, 2024 will be released to the hotel.
