What is Feeding MI Families?

For many families, the past few years have meant lost jobs, higher food prices, missed school meals, and empty grocery shelves. Feeding MI Families wants to learn from parents what has and hasn’t worked when accessing food for your family.

We want to lift up parents’ experiences, needs, and desires to improve food access in Michigan. We want to help build new ways for families to access food with ease, dignity, and respect.

To be a part of Feeding MI Families, you will complete our brief survey via text message.

You will receive a $25 gift card for completing the survey

After completing the survey, we will ask if you are interested in completing a follow-up interview. The interview will last about 30 minutes and you will be able to share your ideas for how we can improve food access for Michigan families.

You will receive a $50 gift card for completing the interview.

Everything you share with Feeding MI Families will be kept private and secure.

Feeding MI Families is not connected to any government services.

Participating in Feeding MI Families will not affect your food assistance, enrollment in government programs, or immigration status.

The knowledge you share with Feeding MI Families will be translated into recommendations for new opportunities for Michigan families to access healthy food.

Some questions in the survey or interview may make you feel uncomfortable. You can choose not to answer any questions that you do not want to, and you can stop participating at any time.

Participating in Feeding MI Families is completely voluntary.  Even if you decide to participate now, you may change your mind and stop anytime. You may choose not to answer any questions for any reason.

Feeding MI Families is led by Dr. Kate Bauer at the University of Michigan with support from the Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies.
