Brief Introduction
Dr. Gajendra Singh Chawda is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and LEO Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Michigan, Dearborn, USA. As an individual deeply passionate about our current challenges, Dr. Chawda approaches his role as a dedicated and driven researcher with fervor. His unwavering motivation enables him to offer unique research perspectives that combine analytical prowess and creative thinking. He is meticulous in his attention to detail and possesses exceptional organizational skills, ensuring that his solutions are both comprehensive and efficient.
Having obtained his Ph.D. from the esteemed Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Jodhpur, Dr. Chawda's research focused on the topic of "Enhancement of Wind Energy Penetration Levels in Rural Grid by Power Quality Mitigation Using DSTATCOM Controlled by Adaptive Algorithms." This pioneering work was meticulously validated through comprehensive simulations conducted in the MATLAB environment, followed by rigorous experimental investigations adhering to internationally recognized EN-50160 and IEEE 519-2014 PQ standards.
Subsequently, Dr. Chawda embarked on a professional journey as a Research Associate in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Jodhpur, working under the guidance of the esteemed Prof. Deepak M Fulwani. In this capacity, he undertook the challenging task of designing an experimental prototype for a DC microgrid, integrating an advanced controller capable of maintaining proportional load sharing and stable DC bus voltage.
Presently, Dr. Chawda is privileged to serve as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and LEO Lecturer in the renowned Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Michigan, Dearborn, USA. Under the esteemed supervision of Prof. Wencong Su, his current focus revolves around government and industrial projects, allowing him to explore new horizons and contribute to cutting-edge advancements in the field. He is also serving as an Associate Editor of the esteemed Elsevier Journal e-Prime.
With over ten years of academic experience, Dr. Chawda specializes in power systems and power electronics, focusing on renewable energy integration and power quality improvement. His research has been published in leading SCI-indexed journals and conferences. He has also served as a Technical Committee Member at various international conferences. He is an Active IEEE member and reviewer of IEEE Transactions, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, T&F, Hindawi, and a technical committee member of various international IEEE conferences. He emphasizes bridging theoretical concepts with practical applications in his teaching, preparing students for real-world challenges.
