Dr. David J. LeBlanc, associate research scientist, has been at UMTRI since 1999. Dr. LeBlanc's work focuses on the automatic and human control of motor vehicles, particularly the design and evaluation of connected and automated vehicle systems. He has led dozens of research projects sponsored by federal agencies, OEMs, suppliers, trucking companies, and others. He is the author or coauthor of many publications in the area of connected vehicle systems, driver assistance systems, driver behavior modeling and analysis, vehicle dynamics and more.

Dr. LeBlanc holds a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan. Before joining UMTRI he worked with global aerospace and automotive companies.
