Coast Guard internships are available after completing the introductory requirements. Internships may be located anywhere the Coast Guard operates. Internships may be taken during spring break, winter break, summer, or via the combination of multiple weekends. Internships are unpaid by the Coast Guard, but students are eligible for course credit and university grants. Internships are the most popular feature of the Auxiliary University Program.
