Research Interest: I am interested in motor skill development, factors that
influence motor skill development, and the role of motor skill development in
supporting other aspects of child development in children with and without
developmental disabilities. I am a personal trainer and fitness instructor and I have
worked as a behavioral therapy implementer for children with Autism.

Research Interest: Supporting children to develop greater perceptions of their
motor competence and improve their motor development as well as the impact of
psychological factors (e.g., anxiety, depression) on motor development and health

John is fascinated with numbers and analyzing data, it is a fascinating puzzle that constantly challenges his mind. Over the years, he has had the privilege of coaching and mentoring talented young children, nurturing their potential, and helping them develop essential skills. He is eager to combine his passion for numbers and his experience with tutoring to be a positive influence on future generations. While his major remains undeclared, John is excited to explore academic paths that allow him to delve into the fields of data analysis and kinesiology.
Daley Elizabeth Fitzpatrick

Daley is passionate about understanding the impact of motor skill development on various aspects of life and longevity, which aligns with her goal of attending medical school. Her extensive service work in Peru, Tanzania, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico City has fueled her commitment to ensuring that people, especially those in poverty, feel cared for and supported. Through her involvement in the CMAH lab, Daley is dedicated to further understanding how motor skill development can positively influence individuals throughout their lives.
Olivia Angela Henn

Olivia has a passion for working with children and studying childhood development. During the school year, she enjoys volunteering in the Ann Arbor community to support the Special Olympics, the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, and the Alzheimer’s Association. Through her involvement in the CMAH lab, she hopes to gain a deeper understanding of health concerns and intervention methods for youth populations and apply this knowledge to pursue a career in pediatric dentistry.
Sophia Leone

Sophia is fascinated by anatomy, the human body, and psychological developments occurring across the lifespan. Her passion for such was discovered through her own experience with physical therapy as a child. Over the years, she has gained hands-on experience from interning at a pediatric physical therapy practice and volunteering at a geriatric rehabilitation facility. She one day hopes to foster a clinical environment that allows children to form the same positive relationship with physical therapy as she once had .
Charlotte Meeker

Charlotte is passionate about the intersection of movement and health, and having experience working with children, is excited to explore child development and movement further while assisting in the CMAH lab. She hopes to combine her passion for working with kids with her interest in health and medicine by pursuing a career as a physician assistant, with a potential focus on pediatrics.
Adelaide Rose Shaver

Adelaide is passionate about working with children, whether through tutoring, helping in after-school programs, or babysitting. She is excited to learn more about child development and movement while assisting with the CMAH lab. Adelaide hopes to apply what she learns in the lab to medical school and eventually to working in pediatrics.
Megumi (Daniela) Shimazaki Ito

Daniela grew up participating in a variety of sports and enjoys staying active. She has a passion for working with children in settings such as coaching and tutoring. She is eager to gain valuable research experience and expand her knowledge of the critical factors that influence child movement and development. Her long-term interests include pursuing a career in pediatric care, either in medicine or dentistry.
