On the morning of August 26, 2026 (Nepal local time), a catastrophic debris flood swept through central Nepal along the Lhende Khola–Bhote Koshi/ Trishuli river system, causing significant damage across three districts (Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading). The flood moved exceptionally fast (up to 75 km/hr), was sediment-laden, and extreme in scale. The CLaSH rapid response team has collected information and performed intial analysis on the event.

A M7.4 earthquake occurred near the west coast of Colombia on 10 August 2026 destroying thousands of homes and causing significant damage. Imagery is limited in the region but the CLaSH rapid response team mapped nearly 600 landslides, however, majority of these failures appear to be small and in the densely forested region west of Cartago.
Two sequential earthquakes, M7.2 and M7.5, struck northern Venezuela on 24 June 2026 and produced widespread damage and thousands of casualties in the area. USGS and GEER led responses to this event. The CLaSH rapid response team has been coordinating with both agencies and remains on standby to provide support as the situation develops.

On 8 June 2026, a M7.8 earthquake struck offshore southern Mindanao, Philippines, causing widespread damage including building failures, significant landsliding and coastal change. The CLaSH rapid response team mapped nearly 7,000 landslides in the region. More information on the virtual response can be found here and plans to further these initial findings. CLaSH is working closely with Filipino collaborators and considering a field deployment.
