As part of my dissertation work, I have been conducting linguistic fieldwork in the Chicontepec region of Veracruz, México. This region is rich with Nahuatl speaking communities, most of which seem to be mutually intelligible. Below I have included a map highlighting the communities I work more closely with: Tecomate, Tepoxteco, Alaxtitla and La Pagua.
