The Criminology and Criminal Justice Collective (CCJC) was founded in 2020 by a group of individuals dedicated to sharing their passion with others. Sponsored by the Criminology, Law, and Criminal Justice Program, the Criminology and Criminal Justice Collective at the University of Michigan - Dearborn focuses on sharing knowledge through experience, philanthropy, and discussion in order to facilitate communication across campus.
Members can learn more about the criminal justice system by attending events both on and off campus through service projects, guest speakers, and field trips. The CCJC community also strives to create memories through various social events and activities throughout the semester. Furthermore, students are able to record and host their own podcast episodes through CCJC's Craving Crimes podcast found on Spotify!
Outstanding Student Organization - 2023
Our general meetings are full of opportunities to learn more about this field and the peers you are surrounded by each meeting. Our topics range from guest speakers, to open-floor discussions, to Homecoming boat decorating! Explore your opportunities while connecting with students that may be following the same path you are.
Our organization has participated in various service projects throughout the Dearborn/Detroit/Ann Arbor communities. With each of our service projects, CCJC has partnered with different organizations to help fight hunger through food donations and packaging food, helping the ecosystem, donating toys to foster children, and much more!
We enjoy facilitating deeper connections and friendships through different social events. Our organization enjoys learning more about each other outside of meetings to help build a more diverse and inclusive environment. These events may include Cider Mill trips or holiday parties.
Members of the CCJC love to take a more hands-on approach to learning through our interactive field trips. On these field trips, we are able to learn about the community and the story of the organizations/facilities within it. Some locations that we have visited include the Wayne County Courts, the Ohio State Penitentiary, the Alley Way Projects, and many more!
