Brandon J. Romero

Welcome to my website!

I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity, and Equity at Washington University in St. Louis. I specialize in race and ethnic politics, public policy, and political behavior. My work examines how local governing institutions shape political participation and political attitudes in marginalized communities.

My dissertation, The Politics of Police Protection, draws on survey experiments, observational analyses, and quasi-experimental methods to examine how policing and crime shape attitudes and behavior. 

I received my PhD in Political Science from the University of Michigan. Prior to attending the University of Michigan, I graduated with my BA in Political Science and Economics from Williams College.
