Why did you join BGSG? I joined BGSG to serve as a representative and advocate for the students in my program and to have the opportunity to work with other students who want to do the same for their programs and all graduate students, in general.

Why did you join BGSG? I am an international graduate student, and I have found that having a supportive community is essential for a positive and fulfilling PhD experience. I am deeply passionate about fostering community-building opportunities among graduate students, particularly for those who, like me, come from international backgrounds. I joined BGSG as a way to contribute to initiatives that enrich and improve the PhD experience for my fellow international students and graduate student peers in general.
Fun Fact: I'm from Colombia, the land of coffee, but I barely drink any! I guess I’m a bit of a walking contradiction. I also love cooking and baking and even keep my own recipe book—just like a lab notebook—for my recipes.

Why did you join BGSG? I learned about BGSG during orientation and was impressed by its commitment to fostering inclusion and building a strong community. Ensuring that students have access to resources that enhance their educational experience is something I deeply value. As biomedical students, we encounter unique challenges, and being part of a supportive community is crucial for overcoming them. Joining BGSG provides me with the opportunity to contribute to this mission and make a positive impact on our student community.
Fun Fact: I have won over 20 radio contests including meet and greet passes and concert tickets.
