WELCOME to AYA CARE (Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer REsearch) , the research arm of the Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Program at University of Michigan Health. AYA CARE began in 2019 under the leadership of the program's Co-Medical Directors Emily Walling and Rashmi Chugh, and Research Director Bradley Zebrack, and Clinical Research Director Anao Zhang. The AYA CARE Research Group serves as a platform for investigators across three University of Michigan campuses and AYA clinical care programs across the country. AYA CARE involves a multidisciplinary, multi-institutional team of faculty, pre-doctoral fellows, masters- and bachelor-level health science students, and community partners. Center projects are currently funded by the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center, St. Baldrick's Foundation, and the University of Michigan School of Social Work.
We encourage AYA cancer patients and survivors, family members, and AYA oncology researchers to further explore the center’s exciting projects and to find out how they can be involved. We hope you will find our website informative and helpful. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
