During the Artificial Intelligence Club's General Body Meeting for the Fall 2025 semester, our team introduced ourselves and discussed the AI4ALL initiative to the wider campus community! You can see the slides presented during this meeting below.
In this initial workshop, participants were able to get a sense into what AI actually is, the difference between weak and strong AI, and got a glimpse into how AI is being used in different industries and domains! Below you can see a video recapping this workshop.
This workshop featured talks from Dr. Zheng Song (AIC's club advisor) and his research students, Richard Nelson and Chineme (Derek) Uba. Dr. Song presented on generative AI and how it relates to personalized learning, Richard and Derek gave an overview of AI agents and their research project, FOCUS, which utilizes them for personalized learning, and Jack and Mir finished up the workshop with a quick demonstration of NotebookLM. This workshop session featured Lauren Eaton of the Friends of the Rogue (FOTR), who discussed some of the conservation and volunteering efforts the organization sponsors and how they have used AI technology to assist in these efforts. Afterwards, members from the FrogWatch and Robin senior design teams demonstrated their projects which used AI to help support the identification of frog species and detect birds based on noise recognition to assist in accessibility, respectively. This workshop session featured Katie Dunn, the Director of Student Engagement for Career Success in the College of Engineering and Computer Science, and gave participants helpful tips about how to utilize popular AI tools to apply for jobs and fine tune their resumes. This workshop featured Dr. Birhanu Eshete of the University of Michigan-Dearborn's Computer and Information Science department on discussing how AI can be trustworthy in the modern age. Ranging between security, privacy, ethics, transparency, and more, learn about how AI can evolve to become more trustworthy in our current technological landscape.
