What was your favorite memory of your first semester at UMD?
How huge everything was, the library, class size, cafeteria, campus; it was overwhelming at first but I got used to it!
What advice would you give to an incoming transfer student to ensure their success?
Always attend your professors office hours, GSS, TA discussions, and form study groups if you can. Not only do they help you connect with other students and your professors, you get a better understanding of the class materials.

What was your favorite memory of your first semester at UMD?
Joining the Terp Thon Planning Team! I loved connecting with other students to make a difference in our community. TTPT made this large campus feel a little smaller.
What advice would you give to an incoming transfer student to ensure their success?
Don't be afraid to ask for help! Transferring can be a major transition, and it's okay to ask others for help for anything, including academics, mental health, or how to become more social on campus!

What was your favorite memory of your first semester at UMD?
Truthfully, it was probably the day I actually met someone I became friends with in class! It was so nice having someone to walk to classes with and ask questions to about campus or class.
What advice would you give to an incoming transfer student to ensure their success?
Definitely talk to anyone and everyone about transferring! It helps to know other people and get their advice on places to eat, how to manage time, etc. Plus, adjustment to campus life is always easier when you know a person or two that can help guide you!

What was your favorite memory of your first semester at UMD?
My favorite memory of my first semester at UMD was getting to be a part of the Recwell staff. I felt like I was a part of a community that was encouraging, supportive, and welcoming. It allowed me to be involved and also opened new doors for me.
What advice would you give to an incoming transfer student to ensure their success?
My advice would be to not spread yourself too thin. Try new things but make sure you are following your priorities and not forgetting about your classes.

What was your favorite memory of your first semester at UMD?
My favorite UMD memory was being awarded the Frederick Douglass Scholarship. My older sister had won the scholarship the year prior, and was the ceremony keynote speaker for my cohort. It is something that I will never forget.
What advice would you give to an incoming transfer student to ensure their success?
Do not be afraid to integrate yourself into the campus. UMD is a big place, but 2/3 of all USM's students transfer into their college. Have confidence to network, ask for guidance when needed, and know that you have something to offer and that you deserve to be here!
