Peer coaching creates space for people to feel heard, supported, and challenged in meaningful ways. In this 90-minute interactive session, participants will be introduced to the foundations of peer coaching as a practical approach for fostering growth, connection, and development in the workplace. The session will explore core coaching principles such as presence, deep listening, curiosity, and asking powerful questions that help others think more clearly and move forward with intention.
Participants will gain a better understanding of how coaching differs from advising, fixing, or problem-solving, and why that distinction matters in leadership and collegial relationships. Through reflection, discussion, demonstration, and practice, attendees will begin building confidence in using a coaching mindset and basic coaching skills with peers and colleagues.
This session is designed for professionals who want to strengthen their ability to support others in a more thoughtful, empowering, and human-centered way. Participants will leave with practical tools they can begin applying right away to deepen conversations, build trust, and encourage growth in their teams and communities.

This interactive session builds participants’ skills in using the LAAR framework (Listen, Affirm, Acknowledge, Respond) to support restorative and inclusive supervision of professional and student staff. Grounded in our Restorative & Inclusive Supervision series we are currently doing with the Res Life Leadership Team, this session integrates skills and concepts from restorative practices and dialogue facilitation that strengthen trust, communication, and relational and reciprocal accountability across roles.
Participants will briefly revisit LAAR and engage in guided, scenario-based practice drawn from common supervision experiences within our department (i.e. giving and receiving feedback, navigating and addressing concerns). Facilitators will model strategies rooted in dialogue and restorative practices, such as empathetic listening, asking open and curious questions, and affirming perspectives, that support more equitable and inclusive conversations.
Through active practice and reflection, participants will identify tangible tools and strategies to foster and strengthen more inclusive and restorative supervision.

This comprehensive workshop uses the neurobiology of trauma to legitimize and contextualize creative techniques to promote sustainable healing from the often heavy byproducts of trauma. Participants will learn what is actually going on in the brain when someone experiences "trauma," and will learn the manifestation of these different trauma responses (including fight, flight, etc responses). Participants will learn tools to offer trauma survivors to separate past from present as well as where to refer folks to, both on and off campus.

Health and wellness is not static, but a journey. The aim of this interactive workshop is to create a space for dialogue and support centered on health and wellness. During the session, we will present on different ideas, theories, and practices centered on self-compassion, values, and purpose. Participants will leave with personal insights, helpful tools, and actionable plans.
Wherever you are on your journey of health and wellness, we hope this session is either the beginning steps or a checkpoint along the way. This workshop is open to all staff and requires no prior experience with wellness or personal development, only a willingness to show up with openness, vulnerability, and curiosity.
As a preface, we are not mental health professionals. However, our work in Resident Life calls us to be informed about and sensitive to mental health and wellness. This session is our own authentic exploration into the topic.

In this experiential workshop, participants will be led through a few meditation practices intended to ground and support their mental health and well-being. This session will allow participants to slow down and be present with themselves and how they're doing, really. The workshop will include time to reflect, ask questions, and accommodate different needs. Multiple healing modalities will be engaged including meditation, breathwork, visualization, very gentle somatic movements/ stretches, journaling, and circle rounds to debrief. The session will end in savasana with an optional hands-on assist with essential oils (after the group unanimously consents to the use of essential oils as the smell can be an issue for some).
