The Violence, Instability, and Peace (VIP) Workshop 

I organize the Violence, Instability, and Peace (VIP) Workshop, a virtual research forum for scholars studying conflict, protest, crime, peace, and related topics to present work-in-progress and receive substantive feedback. Each presentation is paired with a senior faculty discussant, helping bridge the gap between junior and senior scholars in the field. The workshop grew out of a simple belief: that early-career researchers benefit enormously from a low-stakes, welcoming space to test ideas, get real engagement on their work, and build connections with others in the field.

As an organizer, I'm especially motivated by the chance to build community infrastructure for the broader conflict and peace research field. Bringing together young scholars from different institutions and subfields to discuss each other's research fosters the kind of cross-institutional dialogue that sharpens research while its still taking shape.
