The 2020-2021 Virtual Speaker Series on Race, Equity, and Justice is part of SLLC's initiatives to develop anti-racist practices within SLLC in research, pedagogy, and institutional structures and create dialogue around anti-racism, diversity, and inclusion. Drawing upon the flexibility of the virtual environment—all of our programming in AY 20-21 will be virtual— this series will bring together scholars from all around the world, from different languages and disciplines to foster anti-racist practices, combat anti-Black racism, and promote social and racial justice in our work and learning environments. Our goals are to highlight the specific ways our fields perpetuate racism and injustice in all of its forms and to provide a space for imagining new work and learning environments that are structured on the principles of equality and justice.
