Advisor: Prof. Gregg A. Duncan
Fifth-year Ph.D. candidate investigating how mucus dysregulation drives chronic respiratory diseases and developing gene therapies to restore airway function.
Led preclinical studies evaluating the impact of mucin variations on airway mucus properties and mucociliary clearance using air-liquid interface human bronchial epithelial models.
Developed and optimized AAV-based gene therapy strategies targeting airway mucins for the treatment of asthma. Conducted in vitro and in vivo efficacy studies assessing transduction efficiency, therapeutic outcomes, and mucosal barrier interactions.
developing long-term solutions for asthma by targeting mucus
Advisor: Prof. Ashish A. Kulkarni, Jan 2018 - July 2020
Developed dual drug-loaded lipid nanoparticle formulations targeting tumor-associated macrophages, achieving enhanced anti-cancer efficacy in preclinical in vitro and in vivo models.
Engineered stimuli-responsive nanoparticle systems for real-time monitoring of T-cell immune responses in tumor microenvironments.
Collaborated with multidisciplinary teams on nanoparticle characterization, and in vivo therapeutic evaluations.
