We are a research group that focuses on meaning from the perspectives of linguistics and philosophy, with students and faculty from the two departments at the University of Maryland, College Park. We are interested in analytical, experimental and formal work directed at semantic aspects of human linguistic competence. Topics presently in focus include modality, speech acts, aspect, events, argument structure, and quantifiers.
