Teaching my workshop was a gateway to learning more about myself and what I can contribute to the world as far as teaching. Learning what it takes to run a classroom while also keeping students engaged was one of the most notable parts of my experience. Throughout the semester, I learned what it is like to create a jewelry set and give it a proper purpose. Whether it be throguh our own interest, social issues, and culture. It is a way to reflect who we are as people, which is something I am very grateful to contribute to.
I also learned the importance of class setup up which was fundamental to my students active learning and engagement. From CPSA260 we read an article about classroom setup and how classroom arrangement leads to active listening and learning. Active listening refers to interaction while learning, such a writing, discussions, workdays, etc. ( Brame, 2016). With a more engaging room setup, students are more willing to take in information and contribute to the class. It even helps with getting to know others around them.
Overall, this experience was one of a kind, I am very happy that I got the chance to teach others something that I love. Hopefully, teaching others around them, I believe this art style is something that should be shared, starting with my students.
