The project focuses on helping Maryland Mauj, a student-run organization at the University of Maryland, improve how they manage and run their annual Bhangra dance competition. Currently, the organization faces challenges with inefficient systems, such as tracking budgets and sponsorships through Excel and lacking a centralized platform for marketing and registration. To address these issues, the students are developing a user-friendly website that streamlines registration, scheduling, payments, and communication between dance teams, trainers, and board members. In addition, the system includes an admin dashboard to improve financial tracking and decision-making. Overall, the goal is to increase efficiency, enhance outreach, and create a more professional and organized experience, ultimately helping Maryland Mauj grow its reputation, attract more sponsors, and successfully host its large-scale cultural event.
