The creative process for curating a workshop is vastly different from a typical artistic work. The most unique, fun, and at the same time challenging part was applying my vision for what I wanted the workshop to be to fit a one-semester syllabus and 90-minute lesson plan. The resource from the University of Michigan titled "Strategies for Effective Lesson Planning" came in handy throughout the process, as it outlined the best way to craft a lesson plan in a step-by-step process. I had gone through many iterations of lesson plans, writing and rewriting lesson goals, and learned I had to make sure I included supplemental activities in case we sped through a lesson and needed to fill time, but also make sure I was realistic about how much I could fit into 90 minutes. Overall, this experience taught me that finding balance is essential in any creative endeavor, and once you achieve that balance everything else tends to fall into place.
