GVPT Advisors will be available for virtual and phone appointments during times when UMD is scheduled to be "open". Please see the schedule below:
Monday, January 25th, 2020: GVPT Advising opens for Spring 2021
Our office hours will continue to be 9am-4pm. Thirty minute appointments can be scheduled during available hours through TerpEngage.
GVPT Advising conducts virtual appointments through Zoom. Your advisor will email you before your appointment with your meeting link. You can access the meeting rooms through your browser (https://umd.zoom.us/) or through the downloadable Zoom app. Support for Zoom can be found here.
Please ensure that your camera and microphone are working properly prior to the start of your appointment. If after ten minutes of the start of the appointment time the advisor is unable to reach the student, they will assume the student is not attending and will stop attempting to make contact. Please contact your advisor through email if you are having trouble with the software and be sure to cancel your appointment through your appointment confirmation email if you no longer intend to meet.
Please select the phone appointment box if you would like us to contact you by phone. You MUST leave your phone number in the comments after scheduling so we're able to contact you. We will call you through google voice, so be aware the number that will show up on your caller ID will likely not be a Maryland number.
Drop-in advising will resume during the Fall 2021 semester. Please schedule an appointment through TerpEngage if you'd like to meet with an advisor over the summer term.
GVPT Advising will be available through email during the times outlined above. Please feel free to contact us in the following ways:
Main GVPT Advising: GVPTAdvising@umd.edu
Jillian Santos: jsantos5@umd.edu
Gracie Riley: griley1@umd.edu
Email will be the best way to contact us for the foreseeable future. We will not answer our office phones, as we are not in the office. We will have access to our voicemail boxes but anticipate a delay in getting back to you. If you leave us a message, please leave us a good email contact so we can coordinate a time to call you back.
